Despite a crazy warm December, it snowed last weekend, and Craftsbury Nordic Center pulled off a big race: the first New England Nordic Ski Association Eastern Cup of the season, on a little more than a kilometer loop of manmade snow with more than 400 racers from around New England, Quebec and Ontario. It turned out to be great skiing and great spectating because all the racing — a sprint on Saturday and a 5-k race on Sunday — was within a short walk of the touring center. Racers ranged from the top skiers in the Northeast to high schoolers and kids 13 and under in the Bill Koch League. Check out more in the gallery here. Results are here. Today it’s about 40 degrees and raining hard.
