You don’t have to get out of Vermont in April, but it’s a good idea. This past April we did some touring in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia, focusing on rail trail biking but generally just looking around: Bethlehem, PA, and its defunct steel mills, Moravian history and the Delaware & Lehigh Canal bike path; the Great Allegheny Passage rail trail in southwestern PA; the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal rail trail in Maryland; Harpers Ferry, West Virginia; Antietam and Gettysburg battlefields. You don’t have to travel far to see a lot.Click here for a gallery.
