What a day for US cross country ski racing! Alaska’s Gus Schumacher becomes the first US man to win a World Cup race in more than 40 years. And then Minnesota’s Jessie Diggins reaches the podium in her hometown of Minneapolis after years of trying to bring World Cup racing to her community. The sun shone. The crowds roared.
And it was all done at home on a rare World Cup visit to North America. That’s a happy head US coach Matt Whitcomb in the last photo. I will eventually post a gallery on the two days of racing.
